Anyer, Banten (ANTARA News) - Three more burnt death victims had been recovered by the National Search Rescue Body (Basarnas) team in the ill-fated ship which caught fire in the Sunda strait before dragging into Anyer waters behind Mandalika Hotel.

"They were found in the ship following one full day`s search," Adjunct Senior Commissioner Idris Madaris said here Sunday.

The police said the death victims were found at around 3.15 pm local time very badly burnt and impossible to recognize.

"Two corpses were found on the ship`s charred deck," he said.

The death victims would be sent to Krakatau Medika Hospital (RSKM), like the other victims found earlier, he said.

It was even difficult for police investigators to determine the gender of the corpses.

The Basarnas on Saturday (Jan 29) found another badly burnt victims, bringing the number of the dead victims of the ferry which caught fire when sailing from Merak to Bakauheni at 3.59 am on Friday (Jan 28) to 17.(*)
