Jambi (ANTARA News) - A man was found dead at the edge of a forest in Bayung Lincir district, South Sumatra, on Thursday (Feb 3) with wounds showing had been killed by a Sumatran tiger (panther tigris sumaterae).

Ketani (52), the ill-fated man, was a worker at PT Pratama Orbit Centuri Raya (POC) and his body was taken to Raden Mattaher Hospital in Jambi before being sent to his hometown at Pacitan, East Java, on Friday.

According to hospital sources, Ketani`s body was severely mutilated with his head separated from his body and his limbs incomplete.

According to a friend of the victim, Ketani was attacked by a tiger at around 6.30 pm of local time.

Beforehand, Ketani and his friend on Thursday (Feb 3) at around 4.00 pm saw a tiger wandering in the acacia forest owned by the company.

Seeing the king of the jungle wandering around, Ketani`s friends ran back to their home. Unfortunately, Ketani was working and had not seen the tiger wandering around.

Afterwards, the friends were cooking for dinner in the house. When Ketani was washing hands in the backyards, he saw the tiger and directly shouted to his friends to run. At that time, the tiger tried to chase them and Ketani was caught when he fell while running.
