Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Indonesian government has decided to rearrange the Jakarta Monorail System project and redesign it in two months` time, a spokesman said.

"This is has nothing to do with Japan. But the project will indeed be redesigned," Coordinating Minister for the Economy Hatta Rajasa told newsmen here on Monday after a meeting with Japan`s Keidanren.

Minister Rajasa said the project would be financed by Indonesian state-owned corporations including PT Kereta Api and PT Wijaya Karya.

The project needs an investment of 6.0 trillion rupiahs (approximately 670 million US dollars).

Rajasa added that the new design for the Jakarta Monorail Mass Rapid Transport System, whose track pylons in the downtown Jakarta area have been built since 2005, ill be finalized within the next two months.

The delegation of Keidanren, the Japanese chamber of commerce, led by its chairman. Yonekura Hiroshima, is visiting Jakarta. The delegation had earlier in the day made courtesy calls on President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and Vice-President Boediono.(*)
