Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Keidanren) has agreed to focus on five main economic fields in its cooperation with Indonesia.

"They are committed to development fields while focusing on five main fields," Economic Coordinating Minister Hatta Rajasa said after a meeting with a delegation of the Japanese businessmen`s organization at his office here Monday.

The five main fields were transportation infrastructure such as railroads, marine ports, airports, roads and economic corridors in Java.

ALso electrical energy supply from renewable energy sources such as geothermal and low carbon emissions coal.

Besides, they would also cooperate in any necessary field that are related to industrial expansion, especially outside Java Island to be connected with ports.

Clean water, gas and oil energy development two other focuses of the proposed cooperation.

"I asked them to enter the frontier areas in oil and gas energy development," he said.

The minister said the Keidanren delegation`s visit to Indonesia was part of a tour of ASEAN member countries.

Keidanren was also interested in ASEAN integration plan for 2015 and the ASEAN Connectivity establishment.

"But before the ASEAN Connectivity implemented, we must be able to create Indonesia Connectivity first," he said.

Coordinating Minister Hatta Rajasa also said that Japan also offered the Japan`s bilateral mechanism offside concept by paying Indonesia to develop low carbon emissions based energy source.

Previously the United Nations (UN) had also proposed the same mechanism idea of but it is considered to slow, Hatta said.

"The Japanese Chambers are offering the scheme and we asked for it to be consisted within the Indonesian-Japan cooperation framework, this program is nice and able to reduce the energy development cost," said Hatta. (*)
