London (ANTARA News/Reuters) - Britain`s Foreign Office said on Monday it was summoning Libya`s ambassador to condemn the use of lethal force against demonstrators.

Dozens of people were reported killed in Tripoli overnight as anti-government protests reached the Libyan capital for the first time.

Foreign Secretary William Hague said Britain was calling for an immediate end to the violence and the killing of protesters and a full investigation into the events in Benghazi, Libya`s second city, and eastern Libya.

Britain also wanted a commitment to genuine dialogue and political and economic reform, access for international human rights monitors and the lifting of restrictions on the internet and media, Hague said in a statement. (*)
