Mataram, W Nusa Tenggara (ANTARA News) - Two people were killed after they had been involved in a brawl in Mataram, capital of West Nusa Tenggara province, early Saturday.

The brawl which took place at 01.00 a.m. followed a dispute between M. Ziad and Hasbullah over unclear thing.

A number of eyewitnesses said Hasbullah stabbed M Ziad in the waist. The 24-year-old Ziad was later rushed to the nearby hospital for serious wounds in his waist. He was pronounced dead at around 02.25 a.m.

Seeing that M. Ziad sustained serious wounds hundreds of his friends later attacked a rented house on Jalan Serayu VI No. 6 in Mataram where Hasbullah was believed to hide.

The angry mob vandalized the window glass of the rented house and attacked its five tenants identified as Adi Susanto, Razak, Andi, Suardi and Sebaya.

Adi Susanto sustained serious wounds in the attack. The 20-year-old man was later rushed to the West Nusa Tenggara Provincial General Hospital for serious wounds. However, he was pronounced dead at 04.45 p.m. on Saturday.

The other four tenants of the rented house who had earlier been rushed to the Bhayangkara police hospital are being detained at the Mataram police station for further questioning.
