Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and Philippine President Benigno Aquino are scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting at the Merdeka Palace, Tuesday, to discuss, among other things, marine border issues.

Indonesia and the Philippines would declare the acceleration of negotiations on marine borders, Foreign Affairs Minister Marty Natalegawa said here Tuesday.

Aquino, who is for the first time to visit Indonesia in his capacity as the Philippine President, would also singed memoranda of understanding on youths, sports and education.

The two heads of state will also discuss efforts to strengthen bilateral relations, cooperation within the ASEAN and global frameworks, according to the minister.

Cooperation in the tourism sector would also be intensified especially through opening more flight routes.

Meanwhile, Trade Minister Mari Elka Pangestu said in the bilateral meeting between President Yudhoyono and President Benigno Aquion, they will discuss efforts to boost the bilateral trade and investment cooperation.

They will also discuss the fishery industry and fish catch zone management.

As neighboring countries, Indonesia and the Philippines would establish close cooperation in promoting the fishery industry in the two countries, Minister Pangestu said.(*)
