Washington (ANTARA News/AFP) - The US military knows little about the whereabouts of Libyan strongman Moamer Kadhafi after waves of air and missile strikes in the country, a top US general said Monday.

One of the strikes demolished a building in Kadhafi`s compound in Tripoli, raising questions about whether he had been targeted in the raids.

"I don`t know much about the location of the Libyan leader, nor have we expended any military effort in that regard," General Carter Ham, the head of the US Africa Command, told reporters at a news conference.

He said the missile and air strikes were aimed at knocking out command and control of the Libyan forces and "we`ve had some fairly significant effect in that regard." (*)
