Washington (ANTARA News/AFP) - A top US commander said Monday US forces were sticking to limited military objectives in Libya and have no mission to support a ground offensive by Libyan opposition forces.

General Carter Ham, head of the US Africa Command, said the US military mission was clear -- to impose a no fly zone and protect civilians against attack.

"We have no mission to support opposition forces if they should engage in offensive operations," he said.

At the same time, Ham said forces loyal to Moamar Kadhafi in the vicinity of the opposition-controlled city of Benghazi show "little will or capability to resume offensive operations." (*)
