Cilacap, Central Java (ANTARA News) - A 4.4-magnitude quake shook southern Central Java Tuesday at 5 am.

"The quake`s epicenter lies 7.97 degrees southern latitude and 109.10 degrees eastern longitude," head of the Banjarnegara geophysics, meteorology and climatology station (BMKG) Ahmad Lani said from here.

He said the quake was located 29 kilometers southeast of Cilacap and south of Gombong, Kebumen regency, at a depth of 23 kilometers, but without a potential of triggering a tsunami.

He said the quake could be felt here at III MMI (Modified Mercally Intensity). (*)
