"We have prepared 40 tons of foam and five tons of it will soon be sent from Jakarta. I hope it will be enough," the state-owned oil/gas company`s corporate secretary Hari Karyuliarto said to newsmen here on Saturday.
He said the foam would be dissolved in water around the location of the fire.
He admitted another tank close to Tank 31 T-02 had also been burned due to strong winds.
"The burned tank is Tank 31-T03. The other two meanwhile have already been filled with foam," he said.
Hari would not as yet tell about the loss caused by the fire saying the most important thing to do now was to put out the fire.
He said the villages around the refinery were safe and therefore he called on the people to remain calm and followed police instructions.
"We will try to extinguish the fire as quickly as possible. The faster the better," he said.
Central Java police chief Inspector General Edward Aritonang said police had already prepared access for the vehicles carrying the foam so that they could reach the location quickly.
He said the police had also helped secure the area and therefore he also called on the people to remain calm.
He said he could not as yet tell about the cause of the fire adding it would only be known after the fire had been put out.
"We will send a forensic team to investigate it," he said.
The fire at Tank 31-T02 which contains high octane motor gasoline component used to increase octane content in the regular gasoline broke out at 4.55am. Until 21.30 the fire still was still on. (*)
