There`s has been no immediately report on the damage of Pertamina refinery in Cilacap after the quake hit the district at dawn
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono keeps monitoring the isolation of the flames that burnt the tanks containing gasoline in Pertamina`s refinery at Cilacap, Central Java, a presidential spokesperson said here Monday.

Julian Aldrin Pasha said that President Yudhoyono had received the first report on the fire. The President had also instructed both Coordinating Minister for Economy Affairs Hatta Rajasa and Minister of Energy and Mineral Resource Darwin Zahedy Saleh to report the latest development of the fire, Julian said.

"Both ministers keep giving updated information to the president," he said.

He also said, according to the last report from Darwin Saleh, the 7.1-magnitude earthquake had no negative impact on the Cilacap refinery early on Monday.

"There`s has been no immediately report on the damage of Pertamina refinery in Cilacap after the quake hit the district at dawn. The still ongoing fire on tank 31-T7 uses a terminator produced at the Pertamina workshop in Cilacap," Julian said as quoted by Darwin Saleh.

By using the large-capacity fire truck, he added, the fire was expected to be extinguished in the small hours of Tuesday (April 5).

The President instructed both ministers to keep monitoring and looking for the best ways to control the flames at the refinery, so that fuel production could be restored.
