Bogor, West Java (ANTARA News) - The government and PT Samudera Indonesia have already started discussing the mechanism for delivering the ransom to the Somali pirates holding 20 Indonesian sailors and their ship hostage.

"It seems things have already reached that stage. A deal has been reached on the ransom and now what remains to be fixed is merely the mechanism for delivering it," Coordinating Minister for Political, Eecurity and Legal Affairs Djoko Suyanto said when met at the Bogor presidential palace here on Monday.

Djoko however would not tell the amount of money to be handed to the pirates. "(If I tell it) some might say it is too big or too small. This will cause a polemic and therefore it would be better to tell it all later after it is all over," he said.

He said many technical things still had yet to be discussed especially with regard to the delivery of the ransom while at the same time the government has to assure that all the crew of MV Sinar Kudus were safe.

"This is not easy. It is not like delivering goods to East Java. And in Somalia who we have to deliver it to and how we should do it," he said.

Above all that Djoko said the safety of the crew must be the main priority.
