Kupang, NTT (ANTARA News) - The people of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) are ready to welcome the participants of Sail Indonesia 2011 which is to take place from July to September.

At least 120 yachts from some 20 countries will participate in the international marine event this year, and therefore the preparations also cover the province`s infrastructure facilities.

Yayasan Cinta Bahari Nusantara chairman Raymond Lesmana said here on Monday that 18 provinces including East Nusa Tenggara would be visited by the Sail Indonesia 2011 participants.

Kuapang would be the entry point from where the participants would sail on to Alor, Lembata, Maumere, Ende, Riung, Rote Ndao, Sabu, Sumba Timur, Sumba Tengah, and Labuan Bajo.

Reymond said the areas in East Nusa Tenggara were rich in culture, natural, religious, and marine tourism that attract the participants of the sail to visit.

"We hope the local tourism potential in NTT can be mapped and properly packaged to make it more interesting," Reymond said, adding that after it has been mapped and packaged it should be continuously promoted nationally and internationally.
