The workers will be sent home by the Labobar passenger ship belonging to PT Pelni which was scheduled to leave Jidda, Saudi Arabia on Friday (April 22) or early Saturday, Western Indonesia Standard time or WIB, Irgan Chairul Mahfiz, the special team coordinator of the Houses of Representatives or DPR for the Indonesian labour problem in Saudi Arabia said on Friday.
The 2.400 workers are out of 2.927 migrant workers who will be repatriated soon, he said, adding that 87 of them are now pregnant.
According to him, on the way home, the ship will transit in Eden (Yemen), Colombo (Sri Lanka) and Padang (West Sumatra) before arriving at Tanjung Priok port, North Jakarta on Tuesday (May 3) around 07.00 pm.
