Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The government raised Rp500 billion in funds from the sale of state sharia bonds (sukuk) in an auction on Tuesday.

The sharia bonds put to the auction were series IFR0005, IFR0006, IFR0007 and IFR0010, Director General of Debt Management at the Finance Ministry Rahmat Waluyanto said in a statement on Tuesday.

Among the four series, the government only accepted bids for sharia bonds series IFR0010 worth Rp500 billion at the weighted average yield of 9.42 percent and a yield rate of 10 percent.

The sharia bonds series IFR0010 due on February 15, 2036 will be issued on April 28, 2011. Payments for the yield will be made every February 15 and August 15.

The government will use proceeds from the issuance of sharia bonds to meet part of financing target in the 2011 state budget.(*)
