Bontang (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudoyono is scheduled to open the Indonesian Fishermen`s Contact National Week (Penas) to be held from June 18 to 23, 2011, and a number of important projects in East Kalimantan.

"The President will also lay the cornerstone and sign the plaque of a new terminal of Balikpapan Sepinggan airport and PKT V in Bontang," Bontang Penas chief organizer Aji Erlinawati said here Monday.

"Preparations for the Penas in Bontang had already been made, including internal meetings, administrative matters and correspondence, resting buses, planned departures, exhibitions, setting up committees from city to field observation level and home stay in Tenggarong," said Aji who is also Marine and Cultural Fishery Agency chief.

The agenda of Penas covers the opening, national discussions, working meetings, exhibitions, arts, and sports. There are 30 thousand participants including 1,500 from E Kalimantan, and Aceh 2,500 with the highest number of participants.

The fishermen and farmers will be leaving on June 14, and on June 17 East Kalimantan Governor Awang Farouk will see off the provincial participants.

In view of the recent frequent bomb scares, this time Penas has stricter regulations and rules, all the participants need to have an ID issued by the central government.
