"The village sits on large deposits of oil, gas and coals. Studies are now conducted to know the amount of the oil, gas and coal deposit," the Tebo district head said here on Tuesday.
He said that his office and the energy and mineral resources services of Jambi are planing a research program on the content of the deposits there.
Madjid said the deposits had important meaning for the development of the region`s economy in the future, where at present the people of Tebo relied on the plantation and agricultural sectors.
"Oil and gas as well as coals could be another added values for the district to develop its economy. We have to find credible and trusted investors to tap the natural resources," he said.
According to info@indonesiatraveling.com, Jambi is rich of extractive potential, both metal and non metal extractive, oil and natural gas or alternative energy.
This half of this potential has worked, both in exploration step and production. Coal is one of mining potential which can be used to PLTU as one of alternative energy sources besides geothermal, gas or water energy.
Coal production is about 50,000 metric ton per year. The biggest producer district is Sarolangun and Bungo Regency with low calorie until medium contents.
Other potential natural gas with potential 178.13 quintillion cubic feet/TCF which consists of 91.17 TCF reserve proved and 86.69 TCF potential reserve. Gas potential is in Tanjung Jabung Barat district and Muaro Jambi district.(*)
