"We have set the target that the Tanjung Jati B PLTU would have been in operation by October 2011. Now a land clearance for its tower is under process," PLN general manager for Central Java Distribution, Denny Pranoto said.
He said that the land clearance for the construction of its tower would have been finished by June. It is expected that the Jepara regional government would provide assistance for the clearance of the land.
If the power plant fails to operate by October this year it is feared that power supplies would run short for Tanjung Jati, Kudus, Jepara and Semarang districts.
Hadi said that in Jepara district alone there were 198,095 PLN customers with a total power consumption of 326.53 million kilowatts.(*)
