Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Constitutional Court (MK) chairman Mahfud MD reported Muhammad Nazaruddin, a politician from the ruling Democrat Party, to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on Tuesday in connection with the latter`s alleged involvement in a gratification case.

Mahfud arrived at the KPK building at 3 pm, accompanied by Constitutional Court (MK) Secretary General Jandedjri M Gafar.

It was reported earlier Mahfud was reluctant to report the case in which M Nazaruddin tried to give Jandadjri 120,000 Singapore dollars for an unclear purpose in October 2010.

During a meeting with the House of Representatives Commission III on Monday, KPK chief Busryo Muqoddas said he had personally called Mahfud with regard to the case.

Busyro also said he would follow it up if Mahfud reported it officially to the KPK.

"Yes, we will follow it up as soon as possible if we have already received a report directly from Mahfud," he said on the sidelines of the meeting.

Busyro however did not promise he would immediately summon Nazaruddin in connection with the case.

"It will all be done through a process. All incoming information and data will first be studied and then followed up with summoning," he said.

Mahfud MD had reported the case to President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono as the chairman of the Democrat Party`s advisory board.

On Monday evening the Democrat Party fired M Nazaruddin as the party`s general treasurer.
