Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesia is scheduled to host the sixth Asia Pacific Conference on Reproductive and Sexual Health and Rights (APCRSHR) in Yoyakarta next October, chief population affairs Sugiri Syarief said.

"The October meeting would the first APCRSHR conference to be hosted by Indonesia," Head of National Family Planning and Population Board (BKKBN) Sugiri Syarief said here on Wednesday.

He said that the APCRSHR was a regional conference for Asia Pacific countries organized to discuss health reproduction issues.

The BKKBN chief said that the next conference would be themed: "Claiming Sexual and Reproductive Rights in Asia Pacific Societies."

He said that the Population and Policy Study Center of the Gadjah Mada University in Yogyakarta would serve as the organizing committee with support of BKKBN.

"The conference is expected to produce output on the realization of sexual and reproductive rights in Asia Pacific societies," he said.

The conference is expected to last for four days on October 19-22, 2011 in Yogyakarta.(*)
