"We in the DPR`s Commission XI on financial affairs have a clear-cut stance, namely we do not recommend the purchase of the NNT divestment stake by the government," Harry Azhar Azis, deputy chairman of Commission XI, said here on Thursday.
The government had purchased the seven percent of NNT`S last phase of its divestment share through the Government Investment Center (PIP).
Harry said that if the government was tough in its stance to purchase the stake, the House would push the BPK to conduct an investigative audit.
The lawmaker made the remark in response to the government or the finance minister`s decision to acquire the NNT divestment share.
He said the purchase by the government of the NNT divestment stake had the potential of causing losses to the state because its decision to acquire it was not made qith r the approval of the House of Representatives.
So far, the West Nusatenggara regional government had demanded the seven percent divestment stake of NNT, the country`s second largest gold and copper mining company.
Now, the copper and gold mining firm`s stake is owned by Nusa Tenggara Partnership (49 pct), PT Multi Daerah Bersaing (24 pct), PT Pukuafu Indah (17.8 pct), PT Indonesia Masbaga Investama (2.2 pct) and PIP (7 pct).
