"We will do our best so that both sides would agree the signing of the MoU this year at the latest," Moh Jumhur Hidayat, chief the National Agency for Placement and Protection of Indonesian Workers Overseas (BNP2TKI), said here on Saturday.
Before the opening of the SOM at Jedda`s Royal Guest House on Saturday, Jumhur said that the SOM which was held for the first time between Indonesia and Saudi Arabia would discuss efforts to improve the services and protection of Indonesian workers placed in Saudi Arabia.
The Saudi Arabian delegation is led by Saudi Minister for Manpower Affairs Adelo Mohammad Fakeih with members among others coming from the Saudi Arabian National Recruitment Committee.
Jumhur said that the Indonesian delegation would not push for a direct signing of the MoU by the Saudi government during the SOM
but negotiated that the commitment to sign the MoU should be reached with a written agreement in the SOM.
He said that the main mandate of the Indonesian delegation to the SOM between Indonesia and Saudi Arabia was to reach a commitment that both sides would agree to the MuU.
"Now we are fighting for this goal," Jumhur said.
