"The projects are categorized as ready to be offered , priority projects and potential," the deputy for means and facilities of the National Development Planning Board, Dedy S Priatna, said at the launching of PPP Project Plan Book 2011 here on Thursday.
He said out of the total number of projects 13 had been newly included in the Plan Book.
Dedy said 13 projects worth US$27.52 billion are projects that are ready to be offered. Twenty-one others are priority projects worth US$10.38 billion and 45 other projects are worth US$15.5 billion.
"Meanwhile there are also 16 cooperation projects whose transactions are still being done and will be done in 2011 worth US$32.33 billion," he said.
Minister for national development planning/head of the National Development Planning Board Armida S Alisjahbana meanwhile said that the main aim of using the PPP scheme for the projects is to create competitive investment atmosphere especially to attract private parties to finance infrastructure development in Indonesia.
Infrastructure is the main factor for the acceleration of econonic development in a country including Indonesia.
Right now out of 139 countries grouped in the World Economic Forum 2010-2011 Global Competitiveness Index Indonesia is ranked 44th or 10 notches higher while its infrastructure rank has also increased. She said the government however would continue to raise the ranking.
Various rating agencies have also given good marks to Indonesia so that Indonesia once again is offering infrastructure projects under PPP scheme which are put in the Plan Book.
Armida said the Plan Book has three main functions namely for the planning of infrastructure projects based on a PPP scheme that will build a synergy with national policies and allocations of spending.
Secondly, it will inform private parties regarding PPP project preparations, initiation of new projects and project bidding.
Thirdly, it is for monitoring the planning and development of PPP projects.
Among the projects ready for bidding are the Medan-Binjai toll road project, the Palembang-Indralaya, Pandaan-Malang, Cileunyi-Sumedang-Dawuan, Sukabumi-Ciranjang and Manado-Bitung toll road projects.(*)
