Palabuhanratu, West Java (ANTARA News) - Five countries, namely Australia, the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia as the host, are taking part in an open surf competition in Pelabuhanratu, Sukabumi district, from June 13 through 18, 2011.

The open surf competition -- to be held as a West Java provincial program-- is designed to seek and provide young surfing athletes and improve the tourism sector, particularly in the surfing area, chairman of the event`s organizing committee, Dadang Hendar, said here on Monday.

"This competition is actually set for the Asia Open, but only five countries are taking part," Dadang told Antara.
