Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Jakarta police believe the suspects in the attack that killed Second Adjunct Inspector Sugiyantoro early this month are still in Bekasi.

"(They are) still in Bekasi," Jakarta police chief Inspector General Sutarman said at the Police Headquarters here on Wednesday.

Sutarman however could not tell as yet regarding the number of persons involved in the incident.

Investigators however have already identified them and are now still searching them.

"I do not know if the police have arrested them all or not. It is still being developed," he said.

A group of unknown persons fired several shots at Sugiyantoro in front of a shop on Jalan Raya Mess AL in Kampung Raden, Jatirangon, Bekasi, West Java, at 3.30am on June 1.

The police have already found some clues over the incident, Jakarta Metropolitan Police head of public relations division Senior Commissioner Baharudin Djafar said.

He said police investigators had conducted investigation on the scene several times in an effort to find initial clues.

He said the investigators are currently still waiting the results of ballistic tests on projectiles found on the scene.

According to a witness the perpetrators carried more than one gun, he said.(*)
