The three Indonesian migrant workers are Nurfadila of Bodowoso district, Dwi Mardiyah and Nursiyati of Jember district, East Java. They have returned to their respective homes, chairman of the Indonesian Migrant Workers Union (SBMI) for Jember, Ahmad Mufti said here on Wednesday.
He admitted his side had obtained news that the three migrant workers who once received legal aid from SBMI were facing a death sentence in Saudi Arabia.
"The three migrant workers who are reportedly in death row have returned home in Indonesia around 2007 - 2008," he said.
Ahmad said that a number of print media had reported that there are 28 Indonesian migrant workers waiting for their execution, including Nurfadilah, Dwi Mardiyah and Nursiyati.
"Dwi Mardiyah has been in Jember since 2007. She was once put in jail (in Saudi Arabia) and received a caning punishment 700 times," Ahmad said.(*)
