Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Oil and Gas Upstream Regulatory Agency (BP Migas) has proposed to set the assumed crude oil and condensate production figure in the Draft 2011 State Budget at 945,000 barrels per day.

Head of BP Migas R Priyono here on Friday said he was optimistic crude oil and condensate production will reach the target even though oil production was currently still at 906,000 barrels per day.

"We will continue to try," he said.

According to him, his side has proposed a production target of 945,000 barrels per day to Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Darwin Saleh.

Deliberations on the assumptions for the 2011 draft state budget between the government and the parliament is scheduled to take place between July 4 to July 27, 2011.

Priyono said a production target of 945,000 barrels per day was based on facts in the fields.

"Such as its decline rate and its Enhance Oil Recovery (EOR)," he said.

At the same time, he continued, a number of fields currently have stopped operations either due to planned or non planned disruptions, with a production loss of about 30,000 barrels per day.

"We expect within the next two weeks production would have gone up again, so that the target of 945,000 barrels per day could be achieved," he said.

Priyono also said his side called on all oil and gas contractors who have been producing to prepare an EOR scenario to raise the level of their lifting.

This is regardless of the contractors whose contracts will soon end.

"So, later on a secondary scenario would already exist in each of the fields," he said.

On the exploration aspect, he added, BP Migas will also conduct a number of breakthroughs that would increase oil and gas reserves.
