Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Djoko Suyanto submitted 21 names of members of the TKI (Indonesian migrant workers) Task Force for assisting the TKIs facing legal problems abroad to the President.

The minister submitted the names to President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono in a limited session on the task force at his office here Friday.

"As a follow up of the Presidential directives, the coordinating ministry for political, legal and security affairs, manpower and transmigration ministry, foreign ministry, and law and human rights ministry held a preliminary meeting seeking the names at the ministries and institutions both outside the ministries and institutions with an interest and care for manpower problems and Indonesian citizens abroad," he said.

The 21 names included Mahfuth Basyuni (former religious affairs minister), Bambang Hendarso Danuri (former police chief), Hendarman Supandji (former attorney general), Alwi Shihab (cultural observer), Kemala Candra Kirana (former women`s national commission chairwoman), Nazaruddin Umar (religious affairs ministry), Tatang Razak (foreign ministry), Ahmad Rifai (law and human rights ministry), Ramli Hutabarat (law and human rights ministry), Abdul Latief (former Indonesian ambassador to Qatar), Lisna Yuliani (TKI protection agency), Humprey Jemat (chairman of Indonesian Lawyers Association), Yuli Mumpuni (foreign ministry), and Siti Murtiyah Setyawati (Gajah Mada University academician).

Djoko said that some of the names really cared for the fate of the Indonesian citizens.

In the meantime, President Yudhoyono said the TKI Task Force is being promoted for better focus on the protection of TKI.(*)
