The Normalization Committee will use the ballot in the Solo PSSI Congress, with the main agenda of the election of general chairman, vice chairman and nine members of the Executive Committee (Exco) 2011-2015.
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Saturday (July 9, 2011) is a day much awaited by many people as the All-Indonesia Soccer Association (PSSI) at its extraordinary congress in Solo, Central Java, will be electing a new chairman.

The PSSI Normalization Committee (KN) will organize the congress on the day, following the failure of a previous congress in Jakarta last May 20 to choose a new PSSI leader.

KN failed to elect the new PSSI executive board chairman through its congress due to rivalries that had prompted FIFA (Federation of International Football Associations), the body controlling football globally to seek a settlement.

Following the failure to set up a new national football association executive board, Indonesia then struggled hard to avoid sanctions from the world`s football governing body FIFA.

On the case, FIFA has given the PSSI another month to choose the latter`s new "president" before FIFA may suspend all professional football activities in Indonesia. July 9, 2011 was finally chosen as the polling time for the PSSI.

The Normalization Committee will use the ballot in the Solo PSSI Congress, with the main agenda of the election of general chairman, vice chairman and nine members of the Executive Committee (Exco) 2011-2015.
