Washington (ANTARA News) - Secretary of State Hillary Clinton visits Indonesia and Hong Kong later this month to take part in several key regional forums and host a slew of bilateral talks, a US official said Tuesday.

Clinton will arrive in Bali, Indonesia on July 21 after a two-day trip to India, and will take part in ASEAN talks and meet foreign ministers from the East Asia Summit, State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland said.

"Her visit to Indonesia demonstrates the United States` sustained commitment to enhance our strategic engagement in Southeast Asia and with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN)," Nuland said in a statement.

Clinton will take part on July 22 in the ASEAN post ministerial conference, hosted by Indonesia which is the current ASEAN Chair.

She will also meet with foreign ministers of the East Asia Summit (EAS), to prepare for President Barack Obama`s participation for the first time in the 18-nation summit in November.

Also during her trip to Indonesia, Clinton will host the fourth Lower Mekong Initiative (LMI) ministerial meeting with the foreign ministers of Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, and Vietnam, Nuland said.

The United States will also hold a trilateral meeting with Japan and South Korea, and Clinton will host a number of bilateral talks, she added.

On July 23, Clinton will lead the US delegation to the 18th ASEAN Regional Forum to discuss regional security issues, and deliver opening remarks at the first-ever Regional Entrepreneurship Summit.

And the following day, the US chief diplomat will meet with Indonesian Foreign Minister Marty Natalegawa to discuss key bilateral, regional, and global issues.

On July 25, Clinton will meet in Hong Kong with Chief Executive Donald Tsang and with members of the Hong Kong Legislative Council.

Clinton said Tuesday she will address the global economic situation in a speech in Hong Kong in late July.

"In Hong Kong later this month, I`ll be speaking about the rules and values that support our global economic order," the top US diplomat told the annual conference of the Washington-based US Global Leadership Coalition.

Clinton`s tour begins on Friday when she will first travel to Turkey, Greece and India, AFP reported.
