Didu made the statement after a meeting with Vice President Boediono where he reported the outcome of the recent 5th PII national leadership conference.
At the meeting, Boediono spoke avout the need for Indonesia to end the dichotomy between economic and technological development.
Giving directives to the PII officials at the meeting, the vice president said economic and technological development should complement each other in the efforts to speed up national development.
"The directives from Vice President Boediono are certainly
in conformity with the concept that we have and thus we are ready to partner with the government," Didu told newsmen at the vice presidential office.
Didu said Boediono had pointed out that the dichotomy between economic and technological development was no longer applicable in Indonesia.
He added that at the meeting with the vice president, the latter emphasized the need to have the structure of industry that should be designed in accordance with local characteristics.
"The vice president also suggested that Indonesia make use of `global supply chains`, namely the industry that has comparative and competitive superiority in the country," Didu said.
He added that the Indonesian Engineers Association fully supported a number of proposals put forward by the vice president and was ready to partner with the government.
