Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The ruling Democrat Party (PD) said it was planning to dispatch Idul Fitri travelers in a larger number to Central Java, Yogyakarta and East Java, in 2012, a PD travel organizer said.

"The PD dispatched travelers in 86 buses in 2010 and 95 buses in 2011 but in 2012 it will increase the number of buses to transport more Lebaran travelers," the chairman of PD`s Joint "Mudik` (home bound trips) Committee, Herman Khaeron, said after seeing off 5,700 Idul Fitri travelers at the Jakarta Fair ground here on Saturday.

Herman said that the "Free Mudik with Democrat Party" program was a realization of the ruling party`s care for the people living in Jakarta and its buffer towns of Bogor, Depok, Tangarang and Bekasi (Jabodetabek).

"Thank God, the PD this year once again has the opportunity to provide free mudik facilities for people who want to celebrate Idul Fitri in their home towns," he said.

On the occasion, PD Chairman Anas Urbaningrum hoped that the mudik with the Democrat Party program would increase from year to year.

He said that the free mudik program was one of the PD`s social service activities in its Services for the People program.

He appealed to the travelers to offer prayers so that the Democrat Party would become increasingly strong and big and close to the people.

"Thus, the activities of PD, including the joint mudik program, will increase with time," he said.
