"We appreciate her spirit in becoming a volunteer. However, if she wanted to go to Somalia, she should have coordinated with us so that we could monitor her activity," ACT President Ahyudin said in a press release received Tuesday.
ACT was still continuing to gather information about her alleged kidnapping , Ahyudin said.
Wardhana was registered as an ACT volunteer in Indonesia. She was involved in some humanitarian activity for natural and social disaster victims.
Wardhana was last reported to be involved in a mission with the ACT to help Indonesian migrant workers who suffering from illnesses after being repatriated from Malaysia at Tanjung Priok Harbor last July 13, 2011.
"If only Aisha had coordinated with ACT, we would have provided her with the necessary equipment and security," Ahyudin said, adding that the group would also have made the required administrative and operational arrangements for her.
Wardhana was initially to be sent to Somalia with the Indonesian ACTion Team for Somalia on Friday (Aug 19) but she postponed her departure to Somalia due to her marriage and said she would catch up with the team to Somalia with her own money.
The Indonesian ACTion Team for Somalia is a humanitarian team sent by the Indonesian Committee for Somalian Solidarity (KISS) to respond to the famine in Somalia.
The team is led by Imam Akbari, assisted by members Andhika Purbo Swasono, Dr Adji Suranto Sp.A and Dr. Nahdlatul Ulami.
Wardhana, who is a plastic surgeon , told Ahyudin on August 25 that she was on her way, without ACT`s coordination, to Qatar to meet a patient.
Wardhana also sent a message by her Blackberry Messengger (BBM) that she intended to travel to Nairobi and Mogadish on her own.
On August 29, Wardhana sent a message trough her BBM that she was still in Qatar where she bought a ticket for her trip to Nairobi. That was the last contact Wardhana had with ACT.
A similar report also came from a local guide from Kenya Charles Etoundi who was keeping Wardhana`s Blackberry.
Word on Wardhana`s kidnapping also spread in the social media Twitter through a mention for @ACTforhumanity.
Some reports, saying Wardhana was found in Rwanda, South Africa and some other said Wardhana was found in Qatar and would be ready to be brought back to Indonesia, still need clarification.
