For the purpose of further investigation, the two BPK auditors, identified as Bahar dan Muhammad Munzir, would be detained for the next 20 days, KPK spokesman Johan Budi said here on Thursday.
Bahar and Nazir were named suspects after being questioned at the KPK building on Thursday. They are accused of receiving gratification money from Jefferson Rumajar who was Tomohon mayor in the 2005-2010 period.
"The two were arrested after a team of KPK investigators had found irregularities in the 2007 financial statement of the Tomohon municipal administration," Johan said.
The financial statement was given a "qualified" opinion while in reality it deserved a "disclaimer" rating.
"The suspects are believed to have received Rp600 million in cash from Jefferson Rumajar, one-time Tomohon mayor," he said.
Johan said during the investigation they also confessed to receiving hotel and transport facilities worth Rp7.5 million.
Bahar and Munzir arrived at the KPK office at 09.15 a.m. on Thursday. They underwent questioning until 07.00 p.m. on that day. (*)
