Kendari (ANTARA News) - Southeast Sulawesi police are still hunting the perpetrators of Thursday`s bloody incident at the Haluoleo University (Unhalu) campus where two students were killed.

"We are still trying to establish the identity of the perpetrators of the bloody conflict," Southeast Sulawesi police spokesman Adjunct Senior Commissioner Fachrurrozi said here on Saturday.

He said a joint team had been formed to investigate the incident and catch those responsible for he violence and killings.

"We hope the joint team will soon arrest the actors and immediately process them according to existing legal procedures," Fachrurrozi said.

He expressed hope that the local people would also help the police by giving initial information about the characteristics of the perpetrators and the location of their movement.

On Thursday evening a clash between two groups of students broke out around the Unhalu campus where two students, identified as La Ode Muhammah Hijra (23), and Udin (21), were killed.

The bloody conflict broke out a few hours after the Indonesian representative of United Nations Educational and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) declare Kendari Peace agreement.

Meanwhile, Southeast Sulawesi Provincial Legislative Assembly (DPRD) member Nursalam Lada strongly condemns the bloody incident that claimed the lives of the two university students.

"The incident that claims two lives at once, has tarnished the Kendari Peace declaration in the same day, and we are really concerned over the happening," Nursalam said here on Friday.

He said the university students should have kept and maintained the peace that has been declared because they have better education to be the prospective future leaders of the nation.

"We deeply deplore such a bloody incident. The students who should have passed on the peace declaration to the wider community, they themselves are actually involved in that dispute," Nursalam Lada deplored.

As a representative of the people, the politician of Indonesian Democratic Party Struggle (PDIP) strongly condemned the brains behind the clash at Unhalu campus.
