Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesia and Vietnam are hoping the Group of 20 countries can find the best possible way of preventing the recurrence of a global crisis.

President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono made the statement in the company of visiting Vietnamese Prime Miniter Nguyen Tan Dung at a press conference after a meeting here on Wednesday.

He said other countries including Indonesia ad Vietnam would suffer if a global crisis happened again and therefore he hoped Europe together with the US could manage their economic problems well so that their impact would not be felt by other countries in the world.

"We also agreed that G-20 countries should be able to mange the world economy better," he said.

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung`s visit to Indonesia was the first after he was re-elected for the second term.

Indonesia and Vietnam are common members of the ten member Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) which Indonesia chairs this year. Other members include Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei Darussalam, Thailand, the Philippines, Laos, Cambodia and Myanmar.

Indonesia is also a member of the G-20 countries and actively participating in the forum to voice the interests of the region and developing countries.

ASEAN plans to hold a high level conference in the middle of November in Bali where a high level conference of G-20 is also scheduled to be held early in November.
