Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has summoned two ministers over alleged corruption in their ministries, Presidential Special Aide for Political Communications Affairs Daniel Sparingga said.

Sparingga said the two ministers who were summoned by the president were Sports and Youth Affairs Miniser Andi Mallarengeng and Manpower and Transmigration Minister Muhaimin Iskandar.

"They have been summoned to explain (the alleged corruption cases) as clearly as possible," he said.

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) was now investigating an alleged corruption case in the construction of a SEA Games athletes dormitory in Palembang, South Sumatra.

A number of parties suspected that Andi Mallarangeng was involved in the case.

In the meantime, Muhaimin Iskandar was also mentioned as a party who was implicated in a bribery case in an infrastructure project at the manpower and transmigration ministry, which is also being investigated by the KPK.

Sparingga said that the president directly called the two ministers as soon as the two cases came up to the surface. Yet, he did not mention the date on which the two ministers were summoned. (*)
