"We provide a special place in a bid to bring Siti Rahmah, a medical team and the baby`s family (to Jakarta)," the Batavia Air Riau office manager Zulkifli told Antara here on Sunday.
Siti Rahmah, the first daughter of the couple Khairuddin and Diana was born on September 12 with her heart outside the body.
The baby come from a poor family in the Muara Basung vil1age, Pinggir sub-district, Bengkalis district, Riau.
According to Zulkifli, the special place for the baby was prepared behind the passengers` rear cabin.
Nine of the aircraft seats were released to accommodate the baby`s incubator box.
Actually Siti Rahmah was expected to be flown to Jakarta on Saturday (Sept 17), but it was canceled because the Riau health office only obtained two seats in the aircraft which were obviously not wide enough for the baby and the incubator.
Thus, the baby was treated again at the NIUC
Ibn Sina due to the cancelled trip.
The baby`s medical team was doing their best to maintain the baby`s stable condition before leaving for Jakarta.
According to the medical team, Siti Rahmah also had narrowing lung blood vessels obstructing her oxygen intake.(*)
