Head of public relations division of the PT Tunas Agro Subut Kencana (PT TASK I), Alex Magrisshander, said here on Saturday the bodies of the company`s would-be employees would be sent to their home villages in Wonosobo, Central Java, in stages by plane as of Sunday.
He said the bodies could not be sent home together due to a limited flight schedule.
"We will take responsibility although they are still would-be employees by sending their bodies home," he said.
He said a bus had actually been provided to pick up the would-be employees but because it could not accommodate them all some of them were then taken by a truck which was actually made available to carry their luggage.
Kotawaringin Timur police chief Abdul Hasyim meanwhile said the single incident occurred at around 11pm on Friday and the police had already named the truck driver, Edi, as suspect.
Edi was charged with violating Law Number 22 of 2009 on road transportation.
"We are still investigating it and the suspect has been held for further questioning," he said.
He said the police also planned to summon representatives from PT TASK I for questioning to know who has actually ordered transporting the would-be employees using the dump truck.
Carrying passengers using a dump truck violates the regulation, he said.
The truck carried 34 people when it flipped over and plunged into an eight-meter deep river leaving 14 of them dead.
