Southeast Sulawesi`s Village Administration and Community Empowerment Board (BPMPD) spokesman Askabul Kijo said here on Wednesday that the vice president would replace President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono to open the exhibition because the head of state would have another schedule at the same time.
"I have received a confirmation from Coordinating Ministry for People`s Welfare that President Yudhoyono will not be able to open the exhibition and that he will be replaced by Vice President Boediono," Askabul Kijo said.
According to him, President Yudhoyono at the same time would attend a ceremony to close Sail Wakatobi-Belitung 2011 in Belitung district, Bangka-Belitung province, so Vice President Boediono would replace the head of state to open the National Applied Technology Exhibition in Kendari.
"We can understand the matter but the important thing is that the committee has made every ready for such a national event," Askabul said.
He added that all facilities including accommodation and transportation for the participants of the exhibition had been made ready.
"The organizing committee has made all facilities ready for the participants of the National Applied Technology Exhibition and for the governors who will also attend the event," he said.
Askabul pointed out that to date there has been no complaints or obstacles in the field concerning the preparation for the National Applied Technology Exhibition on October 12, 2011. (*)
