Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Ethics Committee of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has cleared four KPK leaders of accusations of ethical misconduct and criminal acts, a spokesman said.

KPK Ethics Committee member Marjono Reksodipuro in announcing the results of the committee`s investigation into the charges against the four here Wednesday, said KPK chairman Busyro Muqoddas and KPK deputy M Jasin were declared clean unanimously.

Chandra M Hamzah who was often mentioned by corruption suspect Nazaruddin had also been declared clean. Marjono however said that three of the seven committee members had dissenting opinions.

"As a KPK leader he should have been more careful," Marjono said.

KPK deputy for prevention Haryono Umar who was also rumored of having made violations had also been declared clean with some dissenting opinions.

"As a KPK leader he also should have been more careful in his actions," Marjono said.

The ethics committee was set up to address public concern over accusations made against some KPK leaders, especially by Nazaruddin when he was on the run abroad after he was named a corruption suspect. He was eventually caught in Colombia.

Two KPK officials, namely Ade Chandra and Bambang Sapto Pratomo Sunu, respectively enforcement deputy and KPK secretary general were considered to have committed minor ethics violations and thus would be given written admonitions.

KPK spokesman Johan Budi and KPK investigator Roni Samtana were also declared clean.
