Lebak, Banten (ANTARA News) - The family of dead student of an Islamic primary school (MDA) Al-Ikhlas in Banten province of Lebak district, received financial aid Rp20 million from Religious Minister Suryadharma Ali.

In addition, Suryadharma also provided Rp300 million in another financial assistance to the organizer of the Al-Ikhlas Islamic primary school that collapsed and killed Supnia binti Sabna,9, a young female student of the ill-fated school recently, the public relations officer of the Lebak district administration, Icah said here on Thursday.

Apart from the fatality, seven other students suffered injuries in the incident on Monday (Oct 3). Each of the injured students got Rp2 million from the religious minister.

The Rp300 million was aimed for the reduction of the collapsed school, Icah said, adding that the Lebak district administration previously donated Rp75 million for rebuilding the school.

Supnia binti Sabna died after the school roof tiles fell on her head and caused serious injuries when she was studying at 2.20 pm western Indonesia standard time (WIB).

The school built on bamboo believed to become rotten by aging, Icah said.

In recent days very strong winds hit Cidikit village where the ill-fated school was located.

Meanwhile, head of administration of the local religious affairs ministry office, Abdulrouf, said that Minister Suryadharma made a cordial visit to the village which would take seven hours by land trip from Rangkasbitung. (*)
