The 2012 event will be held at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) from June 18 through 24.
Chairman of the West Java Indonesian Philatelist Association (PFI) Ginanjar said that actually Indonesia will hold a similar event in 2000, but it was canceled as Indonesia was facing serious economic problems at that time. "But eventually after so many years, Indonesia eventually decided to host the international event next year," Ginanjar said at the Stamps & Numismatic Show 2011 at Bandung Indah Plaza (BIP) here Wednesday.
In the most prestigious exhibition for the world philatelists a competition of postage stamps will be held by all countries.
"Each country will send their representatives by way of their best postage stamps. The collections will be valued and the winners will receive an appreciation," Ginanjar said.
One of the Indonesian collections which will be sent to the event will be postage stamps of Gita Noviandi featured "One World One Promise".
"The Gita postage collections are better known as boyscout thematic collection because the theme raised in the postage stamps is about boy/girl scouts," Ginanjar said.
The Gita postage collection which has also passed the Padjadjaran University, was earlier Indonesia`s Best Boyscout Thematic Collection in the Exhibition of Philanippon World Philatelist 2011.
Ginanjar said the harmony between Gita`s lover for philatelist and world harmony has also eventually brought them to world philatelist exhibitions. And theme postage stamp collections eventually were event displayed in Japan.
After the Gita postage stamp collections Indonesia will also send other philatelist collections.
Ginanjar also said that the world philatelist exhibition which will be held in Jakarta next year may revive the interest of the people in philatelists.
Besides the events, Ginanjar and PFI will also revive publisizing philatelists to schools and shopping centers.
"In the future,we will hold more exhibitions in public places," Ginanjar said. (*)
