The agreement was signed by National Police Chief General Timur Pradopo and Laotian Minister of Public Security Thongbanh Sengaphone.
The cooperation will include exchange of information on various types of crime such as cyber crime, and human resources development, General Timur said.
The agreement also covered the issues of terrorism, arms smuggling, human trafficking, drug trafficking, global crime and money laundering, he added.
A senior-official level meeting on transnational crime was organized here on Monday prior to the AMMTC to discuss various issues including terrorism.
"To help our anti terrorism efforts, we have a database cpntaining a lot of information but it must be continuously updated. We must develop and exchange information on this issue," the general said.
The AMMTC is being held here from October 11 to 12, which was preceded by a senior official meeting on transnational crime on October 10, 2011.
The Seventh AMMTC was held n Cambodia in November 2009.
At Cambodia meeting, the participating ministers welcomed the signing of a revised ASEAN-China Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Cooperation in the Field of Non-traditional Security Issues.
