Thailand has added another feather to its many-splendored cap of achievements in recent years. Today, the Kingdom is firmly establishing itself as a regional hub of world-class education opportunities for students of all ages and this will be evident at the Thailand International Education Expo 2011 (TIEE 2011), which will take place during November 4-6, 2011, at Royal Paragon Hall, Siam Paragon, Bangkok.
Studying in Thailand has many benefits, chiefly the opportunity to obtain an international-class education in an environment rich in culture and history, and a great diversity in study programs and options, affirmed Mrs Nuntawan Sakuntanaga, Director General of Thailand's Department of Export Promotion, Ministry of Commerce.
"Other favorable factors that are the relatively low cost of living and reasonable study expenses, good communications and transportation infrastructure, and the Thai people's renowned hospitality," she said. Most importantly, the applications of foreigners seeking to study in Thailand are processed quickly and approvals are granted on request, the Director-General added.
Visitors to TIEE 2011 will be amazed at the rapid development of the country's international education service. There are more than 400 world-class learning institutes, including well-known international schools in Bangkok and across the country, offering internationally-recognized curricula for all levels of study and vocational training.
Pre-school to upper secondary curricula are based on the British, American, Japanese, French, German and Swiss systems, among others, while qualifications cover IGCSE, IB, A Levels and AP. Public and private higher education institutions and community colleges together offer up to 981 international programs for Bachelor's, Master's and Doctoral degrees.
There are also many short courses and programs, such as Muay Thai boxing, Thai cooking, courses on tourism and hospitality, gems and jewelry, health, beauty and spa, plus courses on aviation and maritime studies, along with a variety of sports such as horse riding, tandem parachuting and adventure sports.
