Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Coordinating Minister for People`s Welfare Agung Laksono, Religious Affairs Minister Suryadharma Ali and Home Affairs Minister Gamawan Fauzi held a coordinating meeting on religious harmony here on Friday.

The meeting was led by Minister Agung Laksono in his office.

"We discussed various issues concerning religious harmony in order to improve it and prevent problems," Agung said.

The meeting among other things touched on a discourse of having a bill on religious harmony.

"It`s still a discourse and the government will study it further," he stated.

Such a bill was necessary as a legal umbrella for the implementation of religious harmony, he added.

The coordinating meeting also talked about the need to familiarize the public with the existing regulations on religious harmony.

"We consider it necessary to optimally popularize several regulations on religious harmony," he said.

Religious Affairs Minister Suryadharma Ali said religion issues were very sensitive and could trigger many problems.

The meeting was expected to produce a number of recommendations on how to improve the religious harmony and find solutions to the existing problems, he said.
