They were Gita Wirjawan, Amir Syamsuddin, Azwar Abubakar, Djan Farid, Dahlan Iskan and Lieutenant General Marciano Norman.Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has already named replacements for five ministers and a ministerial level state official as part of his ongoing effort to reshuffle the cabinet.
President Yudhoyono here on Monday summoned six candidates to replace five ministers in the present Second Unity Cabinet and the head of the State Intelligence Agency. They were Gita Wirjawan, Amir Syamsuddin, Azwar Abubakar, Djan Farid, Dahlan Iskan and Lieutenant General Marciano Norman.
Gita Wirjawan who is now head of the National Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) was named trade minister to replace Mari Elka Pangestu, and Amir Syamsuddin, who is secretary of the Ethics Council of the ruling Democrat Party, minister of law and human rights to replace Patrialis Akbar while Azwar Abubakar from the National Mandate Party (PAN) was assigned as minister of administrative reform to replace EE Mangindaan.
Djan Farid meanwhile was named minister of public housing to replace Suharso Monoarfa who resigned recently while Dahlan Iskan was to be minister of state enterprises to replace Mustafa Abubakar. Norman Marciano would replace Sutanto as chief of the State Intelligence Agency (BIN).
Presidential spokesman Julian Aldrin Pasha said President Yudhoyono would still summon more candidates on Tuesday.
"The summoning of candidates is to continue until tomorrow, I can assure you that but I don`t know the exact schedule," Julian said at the presidential palace compound.
President Yudhoyono left for Yogyakarta on Monday to attend the wedding of Yogyakarta Sultan Hamengkubuwono X`s daughter. He would return to Jakarta on Tuesday and announce the reshuffled cabinet at around 8pm in the evening.
The new cabinet is scheduled to be installed on Wednesday, October 19 at the presidential palace.(*)
