Jakarta (ANTARA News) - National flag carrier PT Garuda Indonesia starting in 2012 will provide a wi-fi service on board all of its plane, a company spokesman said here on Monday.

Garuda`s Senior Manager of Public Relation Ikhsan Rosan said the airline had previously not allowed an online service on board its planes due to flight security regulation. "Next year, the regulation will be changed," he said.

He said Garuda would charge a minimum price to every passenger who wants to use the wi-fi service during a flight. But he did not mention the price of the service.

PT Garuda Indonesia recently bought a Boeing 737-800NG featuring sophisticated technological devices such as Sky Interior and Audio Video on Demand in every seat.

The company is expected to have expanded its fleet from 84 planes at present to 154 by 2015.(*)
