Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Vice President Boediono opened LIPI EXPO 2011 at his palace on Monday, and hoped LIPI would be able to increase the results of its discoveries for the sake of the people and the nation. He also hoped for better responses to LIPI EXPO so that the researchers would become more enthusiastic in increasing their performances.

Head of LIPI Lukman Hakim said the theme of LIPI EXPO 2011 this time is the services of LIPI are dedicated to the Unitary State of Indonesian Republic (NKRI). This theme is expected to represent LIPI`s wish that the results of research could be familiarized and used by the people. He also hoped LIPI EXPO would also cause LIPI to become closer the stakeholders, both from industries, the public and the government.

He said despite the limited funds, LIPI would still try to give the best for the nation and the state. The many research works that had been made he said had also contributed to the progress and welfare of this nation. The event also saw the signing of an MoU between LIPI and PT KAI on education and research, an MoU between LIPI and PT Indonesia Power on research and development of power and LIPI with the Damandiri Foundation on study on population.

In the meantime, LIPI EXPO held from November 7 to 11, 2011 at Hotel Bidakara, Jakarta Selatan. LIPI EXPO will include an exhibition of the results of LIPI`s major research works comprising 12 groups, namely science for the regions, food resilience, medical technology and health, green technology, technological and scientific resources, natural resources and disasters, biological diversities and development.

Information and communication technology, testing and quality standards, energy and transportation, material technology, dynamics and transformation, and LIPI Galery.
